Overview: 

This report represents a rigorous, comprehensive review of the research literature to identify U.S. based SEL interventions that meet ESSA Tiers of Evidence criteria and therefore, can be supported with ESSA funds. The report includes a brief review on the growing body of research that addresses the role of interpersonal and intrapersonal competencies in student success in school and beyond. Sixty such programs/interventions are identified and the learner outcomes that are impacted. Chapter 5 provides a comprehensive, well-organized description of evidence-based SEL interventions at the elementary, middle, and secondary levels, the outcomes addressed by each program, and the strength of the positive results associated with each intervention.
