SERVPRO SAFE SCHOOLS RESEARCH AWARD

LEARN has partnered with ServPro to offer a learning environments research award supporting a Research-to-Action (R2A) partnership between a university and a K-12 district. Servpro offers water, fire, mold, and commercial cleaning services, as well as reconstruction following a destructive event.

We invite proposals for a $2,000 research award focused on examining the impact of aging infrastructure on the student experience. This award supports innovative, evidence-based projects that explore how the condition of physical campus environments—such as classrooms and shared spaces—affects student learning, well-being, safety, access, and engagement.

Proposals may take qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches and may address topics such as equity implications, health and safety, academic outcomes, student engagement, or student satisfaction.

Award Amount: $2,000
Use of Funds: Award funds are designated to offset travel expenses associated with research partner collaboration. This may include travel to the district or presenting findings at a LEARN symposium (Atlanta 2027, San Diego 2028).

Eligibility: University researcher collaborating with a K-12 district
Proposal Deadline: June 1, 2026
Project Timeline: Aug 1, 2026 – Aug 1, 2028

Submit HERE

Submissions should include a brief project description (750 words), the methodology, a high-level budget overview, and contact information for the principal investigator and the designated K-12 district liaison.

If you are a K-12 district leader needing a research partner, LEARN is happy to connect you. Simply email
jhaubert@golearntoday.org.

If you are a university researcher interested in being matched with a district, please fill out this google form. We will reach out if we have a superintendent whose problem of practice matches your area of expertise.

We look forward to supporting research that informs meaningful improvements to the student experience.
